Debacle, the rising music group from the New York City area, are scheduled to release their lead single, “Flashing Lights,” on October 16th. “Flashing Lights” is the first track off of the band’s upcoming, self-titled album, which is scheduled to be released in early 2023. Debacle has been playing together since they met in high school and have gained popularity all over the world since the release of their debut EP, One 7-8… which was released while the band was still in high school!
Opening with a superbly catchy vocal riff that serves as the basis for the rest of the song, Debacle immediately demonstrates how to set a funky tone. With just bass, drums, and vocals kicking the song off, other instruments continue to join in as the song progresses through its different sections. No one section of the song is like any other, with different elements being added to help push the song along and keep its listeners engaged.
Throughout the song, there are hints of other elements that will make an appearance later in the track, whether it be a guitar riff, a piano flourish, or a harmony in the horn section. By the end of the song, there are nearly ten different parts playing at once, which may just seem like noise but is expertly pulled off by Debacle, resulting in a beautiful cacophony of sound that few bands of their caliber are capable of. “Flashing Lights” perfectly embodies Debacle’s ability to seamlessly and effortlessly get any listener out of their seat and onto the dance floor.
Don’t forget to follow Debacle on social media and definitely be sure to check out “Flashing Lights” when it drops on October 16th!
