Pinwheel Valley Release Emotional New Single “Werewolf”

On June 10, Pinwheel Valley released their latest single, “Werewolf”, through Hot Soap Records. This new track marks an emotional and bold step for the rising indie group.

Pinwheel Valley Werewolf opens with soft piano and subtle guitar layers. The song then builds slowly, revealing soaring vocals and cinematic soundscapes. It’s a raw and moving listen.

The Story Behind “Werewolf”

The song was written and produced by frontman Qais Khoury, who also co-mixed it with Andreas Matheou. The mastering was done by Robb Robinson, known for working with artists like Jason Mraz and Angels & Airwaves.

Qais describes “Werewolf” as his most personal release to date:

“Werewolf is about a working-class man who feels invisible. He’s ignored by society. That pain builds up. Eventually, it turns into a violent urge—like a werewolf. He’s torn between his darker instincts and his desire to stay good.”

This message adds emotional weight to the track. At the same time, the arrangement keeps it captivating from start to finish.

A Band on the Rise

Pinwheel Valley Werewolf follows a string of major accomplishments. Their 2024 EP Reverie earned praise from critics and fans alike. They’ve been featured in CLASH Magazine, NOTION, and Earmilk. Radio stations like BBC Radio London and BBC Radio Sheffield have supported them too.

Their video work also stands out. “Willow” and “Abduction” earned Best Music Video awards at international film festivals.

A Sound That Crosses Borders

Pinwheel Valley’s music mixes indie soul, mellow alt-rock, and folktronica. It feels both intimate and cinematic. You’ll hear influences from artists like Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver, and Radiohead.

Live, the project becomes a full band. Qais is joined by Stephanos Marangos (guitar), Max Daniels (bass), and either Stephanos Meletiou or Phrangiskos Petrisis (drums).

They’ve played events like Fengaros Festival, Indie Week Toronto, and Mayor of London’s Big Busk. Their past tours include stops in Vancouver, Toronto, and Seattle.
