Alan Mair’s upcoming album Field Of One presents the musician in a reflective and atmospheric mode. Due for release on 3rd August 2026, the album arrives with its lead single How Could I Let This Happen, a track centred on regret, consequence and emotional reckoning.

Across the album’s twelve songs, Mair writes about the trials and tribulations of life itself. The record highlights his ability to combine personal themes with strong alternative rock arrangements, giving the project a sound that is both grounded and cinematic.

Mair performs the instrumentation across the album, with the exception of lead guitar from Zal Cleminson and keyboards on selected tracks by Paul Rabigar. On How Could I Let This Happen, Mair wrote, sang and produced the song, while Cleminson contributes the lead guitar performance.

As a founding member of The Only Ones, Mair helped shape a body of work that influenced several major alternative and rock artists. Field Of One shows that his songwriting remains active, honest and emotionally resonant, offering a new statement from a musician whose creativity continues across generations.
