Bilingual English/Spanish indie R&B artist Taya Elle is set to release her new single ‘Time Will Heal’ on September 18, a deeply personal track that challenges one of music’s most familiar clichés: does time really heal everything?
For Taya, the question is far more than a lyrical concept. Before pursuing music, she was a competitive athlete who achieved an impressive 14 medals, building a life around discipline, movement and physical strength. That chapter came to an unexpected end when back surgery forced her to leave her athletic career behind.
The experience changed the way Taya understood pain and healing.
Rather than believing that time would simply make everything disappear, she discovered that healing could require something much more active. That idea became the foundation for ‘Time Will Heal’ — a song about confronting pain rather than waiting for it to vanish.
At the heart of the track is a simple but powerful question: does time actually heal, or does the pain simply hide behind your heart, waiting?
Taya’s answer is not about forgetting. It is about moving.
With its indie R&B foundation and bilingual perspective, ‘Time Will Heal’ explores the emotional space between heartbreak, loss, resilience and acceptance. The song reflects Taya’s belief that sometimes healing means allowing yourself to feel what hurts while continuing to move forward.
The title itself deliberately plays with the familiar promise that “time will heal.” For Taya, however, time is only part of the process. You still have to take the journey yourself — or, as the song suggests, dance through it.
That combination of vulnerability and movement gives Taya’s music a distinctive emotional perspective. Her experience as an athlete informs the way she approaches both performance and songwriting, bringing together physicality, rhythm and personal storytelling.
‘Time Will Heal’ marks another step in Taya Elle’s evolution as an artist, introducing listeners to an R&B sound shaped by both her English and Spanish influences and by a story of rebuilding after an unexpected change in direction.
Ultimately, ‘Time Will Heal’ is not promising that pain disappears with time.
It is asking what happens when, instead of waiting for time to fix us, we decide to move through the pain ourselves.
‘Time Will Heal’ by Taya Elle is released September 18.
