Afropop trio Elani release the infectious love song ‘Kookoo’ in time for Valentine’s Day celebrations. The group consists of Wambui Ngugi, Brian Chweya and Maureen Kunga who all originate from Bamako. The trio came together when competing against each other in a Mali musical festival. The similarity of being atheists in a religious country connected the group, forming Elani.

Elani have collaborated and worked alongside major artists such as Jose Chameleone and Sauti Sol and have even featured on the Pakistani music television series Coke studio.
