Belfast-based heavy alternative rock group known as Alpha Twin is releasing their latest single, “Gaze,” on, May 5th. “Gaze” will be the lead single off of the group’s upcoming album, scheduled to be released sometime later this year. Aside from releasing and creating music, the members of Alpha Twin created the Belfast music festival known as Belfest, with a goal of giving local artists a festival platform to perform on. Since the festival’s creation, it has become known as one of the best underground music festivals the country has to offer, which is only a testament to Alpha Twin’s commitment to community-building.
From beginning to end, “Gaze” is a rock banger through and through that is sure to get any listener ready to jump into the mosh pit. The opening guitar riff primes the listener for the head-banging they will surely be doing once all the other instruments come onto the scene. When the vocals finally join the rest of the band with the main song’s riff, you can hear the chemistry between the members of the band since all of their parts line up and complement each other so vividly, especially in the choruses. When the main riff gets a solo highlight during the bridge, it only helps to amplify Alpha Twin’s power and presence when the group all comes together for the most climactic part of the song.
Alpha Twin’s lyrics for “Gaze” showcase someone being totally transfixed by another person without being able to control oneself. Even if you don’t want to be transfixed, you can’t help yourself. This is a topic that many can relate to, though maybe not to the extent that Alpha Twin depicts in their song.
