The Festival of French Jazz has announced a three part show at Covent Garden’s ‘The Actor’s Church. The event has been running throughout October and the last show is due to commence on Sunday 27th November. The festival celebrates the considerable influence the European jazz capital has had on the global musical industry and showcases some of the finest jazz musicians in London.
The first show that took place in October was John Etheridge’s ‘Sweet Chorus, which was formed as a personal tribute by John to his mentor and inspiration Stephane Grapelli following their extensive touring together in the 70s and early 80s. John previously gained fame when playing guitar with the rock/fusion band Soft Machine as well as the likes of John Williams, Yehudi Menuhin, and Dizzie Gillespie. Following the magic of Jazz, the show was a huge success and set the bar high for the other two events that are to follow.
On Sunday 27th November, The London Django Collective unites several of London’s foremost musicians of the style commonly known as ‘Gypsy Jazz’. To be sure not to miss the final of these three piece shows, attend the Actors’ Church in Covent garden to catch the festival in its final glory.
