Josh Robins embarks upon his music career with a folk punk twist on his upcoming EP Blessed With a Mess, set to be released on the 29th of August.
Josh Robins is no stranger to the music scene. Having achieved recognition from playing alongside the likes of Will Varley, Inspiral Carpets as well as performing at Cambridge Folk Festival twice, he has developed an army of fans and will be looking to add more to that army with the release of his EP.
Josh Robins has a fascinating narrative behind his music, having been a rough sleeper before turning his attention to music, turning his life around and now travelling the country in his renovated van playing shows to those that support him. Leading the EP is the single All Kinds of Shoes (4th of August) a jaunty and upbeat song which follows the story of a silver tongued figure who can’t help coming to odds with his money and wealth of earthly goods, along with the woman of his dreams Rebecca.
As a majority of his songs often touch on themes of adventure and a life of exploration, Robins has cleverly used the story of Johnny and Rebecca as a metaphor for his own story.
The accompanying music video for All Kinds of Shoes which depicts Josh singing the song to a pub crowd will do nothing to dampen the appeal of the single.
