Grunge-fuelled alt hip-hop rising star Bent Self has caught the attention on one of the genre’s greats as Kool Keith joins him on a lyrical killing spree against Martian kind in the otherworldly adventure ‘Murder On Mars’.

The track takes listeners off planet to a violent cull on Mars as Bent Self, Kool Keith and DJ Blesd1 face off against a Martian threat to the indelible soundtrack of 90s rap tinged with a modern alt-rock garnish.

The track marks the artist’s first major work since previous single ‘Santa’s Dead’ – a tongue-in-cheek horrorcore Xmas masterpiece that clocked over 12,000 on YouTube alone. Bent Self (AKA Dustyn Marsing) has undoubtedly climbed the musical ranks since then, the collaboration with Kool Keith alone showing how far the rap pioneer has come in such a short time. Keith has been famed for his work with Peeping Tom, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Jurassic 5 and left an immovable brand on the 90s hip-hop landscape.

Accompanying the video comes an animated realisation of the carnage where nothing is left to the imagination. Species wars erupts as legions of martian life are slowly deconstructed by our musical protagonists in a display that has Hollywood written all over it.

This is, no doubt, a giant leap for mankind and, more specifically, for Bent Self. Clearly not content to see the skies as the limit, Bent Self goes above and beyond to rain lyrical hellfire and his ascent is certainly not at an end.
