Judith Owen’s “Suit Yourself” was recorded in New Orleans, and the city’s musical spirit runs through the album. Set for release on April 24, 2026, through Twanky Records, the record finds Owen embracing jazz, blues, big band and gospel influences with the confidence of an artist fully at home in the material.
The sessions took place at Esplanade Studios, with Owen producing the album. “Inside Out” was co-produced by Owen and Grammy Award-winning artist and producer Jamison Ross. The album was engineered by Grammy winner John Fiachbach and mastered in New Orleans by Grammy winner Misha Kachkachishvili.
Owen is joined by the Gentlemen Callers, a band featuring David Torkanowsky on piano, Kevin Louis on cornet and trumpet, Ken Warshawsky on double bass, Jamison Ross on drums, David Blenkhorn on guitar and Ricardo Pascal on saxophone. The JO Big Band also appears, adding scale and swing to tracks such as “Moanin’” and “Evil Gal Blues.”
With songs including “That’s Why I Love My Baby,” “If I Were A Bell,” “Shall We Dance?” and “Have A Good Life,” “Suit Yourself” presents a wide-ranging but unified portrait of Owen’s artistry. Whether at the piano, fronting a sextet or standing before a big band, she brings a distinctive voice and personality to every track.
