The U.K.-based classic rock group known as The Jokers are releasing their 14-track album, Rock and Roll Bones, on November 19th. Personally, I had never heard of The Jokers before, but since listening to their lead single, “Rock and Roll Bones,” I can gladly say that I am now a fan. They bring about a neo-classic rock energy that is not found often in a lot of modern music and it can be a nice, refreshing flavor in the music industry.
“Rock and Roll Bones” begins with a guitar riff right out of the glam metal hard rock scene of the 20th century, but in the best way possible. The initial guitar riff immediately catches the ear of the listener and the band really pulls the listener in for a ride when the rest of the band comes in. The driving guitar, thumping bass, and pounding drums really bring back a nostalgic feeling of the rock scene of times gone, especially when the song climaxes during its last chorus.
Now I’ve been talking about the music aspect of the song for a bit now, but I do not want to undermine how crazy the vocals of this song are. When Wane Parry comes into the song during the first verse, he immediately takes center stage. The harmonies from the band only help to push Parry to the forefront of the song to get that face-melting experience that they want you to feel. There will be a music video released alongside the release of the single, and trust me, it will only make your listening experience that much better in its face-melting over-the-top (in a good way) glam hard rock punch of a song.
